Cornish Getaways for Couples

Staying at Trevornick in May or June means you can enjoy quieter beaches, lighter evenings and some of the finest food festivals in the country. These months are also a favourite with the Cornish locals and provide the perfect opportunity to experience everything Cornwall has to offer before the main summer holidays.

This will also be the last time you can visit Holywell Bay one of the key locations in the BBC hit drama Poldark while the current series is still on the air. Wander down together from our Cornwall holiday park, over the sand dunes to the filming location which encompasses National Trust land, the South West Coast Path and dramatic rock formations.

Enjoy a romantic picnic on the bench outside your Eurotent or a glass of wine as the sun goes down from the balcony of your static caravan, the perfect home away from home.

There’s plenty of other options to choose from, with something to suit every couple. Including the self-catering cottages Bejowan and Popham which provide the perfect setting for a getaway by the coast and new this year the luxurious Gull Rocks Beach lodges which offer beautifully contemporary coastal living. The Harlyn, The Sennen and The Treyarnon luxury lodges are now available allowing couples to relax in style in an exceptional location.

May and June are also an extremely popular time for foodie couples to visit the region. Towns and villages are pickled coast to coast with food festivals, from the St Ives Food & Drink Festival and the Smugglers Pie & Ale Festival in May to the Royal Cornwall Show and Mevagissey Feast Week in June; there’s an event for every appetite. Cornwall is also famed for its fine dining and these quieter months are perfect for booking a table at Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw’s highly acclaimed restaurants.

For couples seeking adventure surf schools and coasteering companies operate from Holywell Bay and Newquay, just 10 minutes from our Cornwall campsite, providing water sports aplenty. Those looking for more gentle activities can take up fishing right here on site or try improving their handicap on the two 18-hole courses overlooking the beach at Holywell Bay Golf next door.

A getaway to Trevornick also means you can make the most of the on-site amenities including the heated outdoor pool, Tranquillity Spa, evening entertainment, the Farm Shop and the lounge bar. And for dog lovers, both Trevornick and Cornwall are extremely dog-friendly. From pubs and inns to coast paths and over 100 pooch perfect beaches, visitors to the county won’t have to worry about missing out if they bring their four-legged friend. To impress your pooch, even more, we have a brand- new ‘Bark & Bathe’ outdoor dog shower station to ensure your pets don’t bring the beach back home with them.
