Once upon a time an annual Scout Jamboree camp was held in the dunes behind Holywell Bay. But when the new owner of Trevornick Farm, Mike Hartley, realised what a plum spot he’d landed nudging the beach and the burgeoning surf town of Newquay, he beckoned the first paying customers to camp here in the summer of 1963.
