Our Top Tips On Packing!
Packing – some people love it, some people loathe it. Whichever camp you’re in, it’s a necessity when going on your hols and we want to make it easier for you. So here’s our list of essentials we think you should pack when travelling to Trevornick!
Most people who visit us in Cornwall have travelled a long time to get here and if you’ve got children with you, it seems to take even longer, with the inevitable ‘are we there yet?’ question being asked before you’ve even reached the end of your street! To while away the hours and keep the kids distracted from the long car journey, here are three things we recommend you to bring:
- Playing cards – They might be a bit old school, but they are perfect for keeping everyone entertained on the car journey and under canvas! Plus they take up hardly any room.
- Snacks– There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a car for hours and being hungry! Nobody likes ‘hangry’ children.
- A portable charger – Essential if you have teenagers with you and not just handy for the car journey but while you’re camping too!
Cornwall can be quite indecisive when it comes to the weather so our tip is to cover all bases. Sun hat, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoat, wellies and flip flops! Whatever Cornwall throws at you, you’ll have the right gear to still have a great holiday.
Plenty of socks are a must on your packing list! Cornwall is ideal for exploring the outdoors and getting your hands (or feet!) dirty. So, having a few spare pairs in your backpack throughout the day’s adventures is very handy. Whether you’ve been out paddling at the beach and need some dry ones or you’ve gone on a muddy coastal walk and want some clean ones or it’s a bit chilly in the tent and just want to feel cosy!
The other backpack essential is plastic bags. They can be used for anything and everything and they’ll always come in super handy when you’re on a camping holiday. Pack a few in the side of your bag and you won’t be sorry! 🙂
We love camping (#obvs!), but we know not every night is perfect when sleeping in a tent. We suggest a hot water bottle, lanterns or torches. They’ll keep you warm, plus they’ll create a more homely and cosy feel in your tent.
Last on our list is, of course, a camera. You don’t need a big top of the range camera (but great if you do!). There are some great smartphone cameras that will do an amazing job. In Cornwall, there are amazing photo opportunities around every corner and you definitely want to be capturing those extraordinary family moments and stunning backdrops!
