We’ve gathered together our top 10 activities and days out in Cornwall which are all completely free!

The Camel Trail

A 35-minute drive from Trevornick.

A popular attraction for visitors to Cornwall is the 18 mile stretch of traffic-free trail, perfect for cycling and walking. The Camel Trail is open to the public and is free of charge with the option to hire bikes for a fee if you don’t have your own. We recommend starting off in Wadebridge and cycling along the picturesque route to Padstow, where you can reward yourselves with a lovely Cornish lunch and an ice cream!

Falmouth Art Gallery

A 45-minute drive from Trevornick.

The vibrant art gallery is located in the heart of Falmouth town and easy to find. Free to enter, the gallery is full of seasonal exhibitions and events including specialised baby and toddler activities. Bring your little ones to free baby paint and little fingers workshops or the baby jam sensory experiences!

Cornish Beaches

Of course, it is already well known that Cornwall is home to miles and miles of beautiful beaches which are all completely free to visit! Holywell Bay is just a 15-minute walk away when you stay here at Trevornick and is the perfect way to spend the day. Take bodyboards for the kids to race down the sand dunes on (or use in the sea the more traditional way!), let the little ones paddle and splash in the river and take a good book for yourself to read whilst you soak up the sun. With over 250 miles of beaches to discover, you have plenty to pick from!

Healeys Cyder Farm

A 10-minute drive from Trevornick.

Just a 10-minute drive from the Trevornick site, Healeys Cyder Farm the ideal day out for both families and couples. This working farm is home to the famous Cornish Rattler and many other award-winning ciders, wines and fruit juices. Tractor rides through the orchards, guided tours of the cyder making process and jam kitchen are available for a small cost but entry to the farm and their cafes and shops are completely free!

Falmouth Lifeboat Station

A 45-minute drive from Trevornick.

A free day out which is also fun and educational? – The perfect combination! Falmouth’s lifeboat station opens it’s doors to guests between 2 March – 31 October and the team of volunteers provides free guided tours of the lifeboats. Do be aware before you visit that this is an operational lifeboat station and may be in use when you are there.

Roskillys Farm

A 35-minute drive from Trevornick.

Free for the whole family, Roskilly’s Farm is a working Cornish farm open to guests. Meet all their animals, stroll around their picturesque meadows, enjoy the tranquility at their ponds and finish the day with their delicious homemade Cornish ice cream! Don’t forget to visit their shop and buy a selection of Cornish gifts to take back home with you.

The Flicka Foundation – Donkey Sanctuary

A 40-minute drive from Trevornick.

The Flicka Foundation was set up to give neglected donkeys and horses a place to live their lives in peace. Visiting during the Summer you can stroll through walkways, watching them enjoy their new relaxing lives. Overlooking the donkey paddocks, you can enjoy delicious cakes and light snacks in their tea room and make sure to visit the gift cabin before you leave! It is free to visit but the Donkey Sanctuary is always extremely grateful for any donations that can be made.

Trevaskis Farm

A 30-minute drive from Trevornick.

Beloved by locals and visitors alike, Trevaskis Farm is an enjoyable day out for all ages. Set in 28 acres of Cornish countryside, you can pick the seasonal fruit and vegetables, explore the abundance of produce in their market and treat yourselves to a fresh lunch or dinner in their restaurant. Their homemade cakes are a must-try!

Truro Cathedral

A 25-minute drive from Trevornick.

Located in the heart of Cornwall’s capital city, Truro cathedral is a wonderful place to visit whilst on holiday. Admire the stunning architecture and stained glass windows, see the fascinating heritage objects and then after browsing the gift shop, visit the cathedral restaurant for lunch.
