What’s On This May Bank Holiday

May Bank Holiday Days Out in Cornwall

Whilst this May Bank Holiday will be different, there is still plenty of social distanced activities and local attractions doing all they can to provide a fun-packed long weekend for those on holiday in self-catering accommodation. To help you plan your three-day weekend we have put together our recommended activities to enjoy in and around Newquay with the family!

Feel the sand between your toes

Relax and unwind with a visit to Holywell Bay Beach, just a short walk from Trevornick Holiday Park through the grass tufted dunes. This golden sandy beach is paradise for families, surfers and dog walkers alike. Explore the hidden cave, make a splash in the sea or sit back and marvel at the iconic Gull Rocks out to sea.

 Get your walking boots on..

The gorgeous South West Coast Path (a 630 mile National Trail from Somerset to Dorset, running through Devon and Cornwall) runs right along Newquay’s coastline, from Porth Beach to Firstal. It’s easy to walk as little or as much of the 3 mile route as you like, and there are plenty of opportunities to take a rest on one of the many cliff top benches, enjoy the spectacular views and spot the local wildlife.

Get a hole in one at Holywell Bay Golf

Holywell Bay Golf provides fun golf for all ages and abilities. There’s a Par 3 18-hole course, Pitch ‘n’ Putt, and Mini Golf all with stunning views of the North Cornwall coastline. Open from 8am until 5pm.  Book your tickets online at www.holywellbaygolf.co.uk

Get exploring with a Treasure Trail

Another great way to explore the area and discover some fun facts about Newquay’s history is with a Treasure Trail. Treasure Trails can be purchased online and are easily downloaded (or posted to you) and provide a real-life adventure that fires up the imagination and gets you exploring the most interesting parts of Cornwall to hunt for clues. There are two Treasure Trails in the centre of Newquay, including the brand new ‘Spooky Newquay’ Trail, as well as one in neighbouring Crantock. Buy online at www.treasuretrails.co.uk

Have the Best Day of the Week at Flambards
